How and why I paint
Physical process
Material | I paint with oils on canvas. Primarily with brushes but also with oilsticks, hands, knives and spatulas.
Base | Sometimes the base is a crisp new canvas and sometimes it is a cut from a discarted acrylic painting.
Sketching | I rarely initially sketch a certain idea, but I like to use ideas from playing around with Mini’s.
Painting | The actual painting process always follow a certain rythm. I act and then I react – fast or slowly – allowing the paint to make interesting surprices for me to keep or develop. Part of the fun is ‘dirty’ mixing and using random colors.
